ADAM MULUGETA

I chose to explore fill these mediums because I love to express my art using words and pictures rather than through a physical form such as painting or illustration. Throughout my art studies, my vocabulary has expanded as well as my knowledge of different art mediums and knowledge of different artists. When I first started the art program in grade 8, I did not enjoy art as much but that changed as I began to love writing and began to establish a desire to improve my artistic and creative mind.  

Steve Mccury, Sara Soueidan, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Andrew Coyne are all top artists who have inspired my recent art projects. I have been working on photography, web designing, journalism and videotaping. For my web designing, Sara Soueidan has inspired me with her wonderful websites she has made for her clients but also her own website she has made to advertise herself. Unlike me she did not use software to help her, but made her websites from scratch by coding. My second artist who has inspired my work is Steve Mccury. His middle eastern photography and his variety of angles he has captured inspire me to take more creative photos and to make them more meaningful and interesting. My third artist, Andrew Coyne, has inspired my journalism to the next level. When I first started journalism, I did not take it as seriously and experienced difficulty to focus. However, I now find it easier to concentrate as I am taking more interest in the artists in class around me.

My biggest challenge is interviewing artists and enhancing the website. My main focus was to try and learn how to link a page with Wix, and it has been difficult to research how to do this easily. My greatest success in my work is the completion of the website, a comprehensive place where the work and artist statements are showcased in an attractive and engaging way.

Through my artwork, I hope to lift up different artists in my website and journalism. The one thing I enjoy seeing in art class is the effort they put in their art works, and although sometimes it may not come out as they would have expected it to, their effort and hard work will be noticed.
