GIORGIOS ALIFERIS

I have been working in collaboration with a team of three other artists in Minecraft, a digital art media, to create a futuristic city. My goal is to make a city that has been thoroughly planned with shops, different class areas, offices, etc and properly spaced out. My mediums are cardboard models, brush painting of a landscape in mine and my colleagues city, and a realistic sketch of a couple of buildings and areas.

I enjoy making and modeling pieces in 3D and visualizing 2D pieces into an alternate perspective. I chose my mediums to be simple to idealize but slightly complex to execute. I feel I can make an accurate masterpiece using a simple model or with a variety of materials.

Since beginning art studies, I have learned a good amount, such as new techniques and ideologies. To improve my skills, I need time and lots of practice such as those mechanical skills that take time but not necessarily artistic effort.

The artists who inspire my work  takes years of practice and effort to build their skills. My own abilities are good but I still need the time and practice to achieve greater competencies. Usually builds are of nature or houses. We went with the common house theme in a city. The four best artists I found are Grian, PearlescentMoon, JeraCraft and Tom Wright, three Minecraft builders and an architect in modern design.

One of my greatest challenges was discovering that developing my idea was more time consuming than actually producing the concept for my art projects. My successes were in creating landscapes this year that Ii found enjoyable and creative.

I hope my viewers can capture the creative feeling, time and textures of my artistic concepts and calculations. Also, for my creations to leave an inspirational afterthought with a  memorable impact of my creations to those who see my work.
