KAARI HALL
My name is Kaari Hall and my mediums are furniture painting, interior design, photography and clay. I choose these mediums because it sparks joy and it makes the viewers think. It fills people with joy and helps them have a good day. My designs are bright and eye-catching and I offer all levels of interior design: from the furniture and fabrics we see to the items we use to eat with (ceramic painting and clay work) as well as what we eat (I have been exploring fine patisserie baking within the theme of my work).
I feel that over the past year I have grown as an artist. I have tried many new things. I have worked all of the terms to painting and decorating my bench, stools, table and my teacup sets.
Throughout the junior school (grades 4-8) I have greatly grown as an artist and I discovered things that I love to do, such as painting and interior design.
My art has been inspired by three artists. The first artist I studied was Savannah Jennings also known as “trippy draws”. She inspired me because she uses colour to express her feelings and I love her colour pallet. The second artist I studied was India Mahdavi. She focuses on interior design. She stood out to me because of her creative way of making her space look fresh and modern, but also at the same time very classic and full of colour. The third artist is Francois Catroux. He inspired me to use more soft yellow accents in my work.
I think that my biggest challenge is time. I have missed any classes this term and I’m not even halfway done my project. I still have much more to do in so little time.
I hope that my art will make people happy and spark creativity in others. And inspire them to do their own art and to make them happy and bring some joy into their lives.
